Navigate menopause confidently with clinical guidance

MENO.pause is a free clinical decision-aid for healthcare professionals managing menopausal patients. It translates national menopause guidelines into clear, step-by-step guidance — covering natural menopause, early menopause, menopause following cancer treatment, and complications such as unscheduled bleeding on HRT.

Developed by a specialist clinical team at University College London NHS Trust and based on guidance from the British Menopause Society and NICE, it gives clinicians the confidence to manage complex cases and identify when specialist referral is needed.

Up to 13 million women in the UK are menopausal. Over 75% will experience symptoms that significantly affect their quality of life - and effective treatments exist. But many clinicians face real barriers: limited training, conflicting guidance, and concerns about the safety of HRT for complex patients.

The result is long waits, unequal care, and women who aren’t getting the support they need.

Why was meno.pause for Healthcare Professionals created?

MENO.pause was created to address this - giving clinicians the tools to manage menopause confidently, safely and efficiently, and to refer appropriately when specialist input is needed.

How does meno.pause work?

1

Open the app and select the relevant pathway for your patient — natural menopause, early menopause, menopause following cancer treatment, or complications such as unscheduled bleeding on HRT.

2

meno.pause walks you through a series of clinical questions, drawing on your patient’s history and risk profile to generate clear, individualised guidance on the most appropriate management plan.

3

Where specialist referral is needed, the app indicates this clearly and generates an anonymised, patient-specific report to support that process.

4

All guidance is based on recommendations from the British Menopause Society and NICE, and is updated as guidelines evolve.

Who is meno.pause for?
